Based in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, the core focus of the Operations Manager will be managing the overall delivery of VAR services. We are partnered with a range of clients in Brasil, including national, regional and state competitions, with delivery of these services both onsite and remote.
The OM will lead a strong team to ensure the successful and high-quality delivery of all services. Inadition to operational delivery, cost control and quality of delivery are key objectives, as are ensuring the quality of life of the team and encouraging a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities revolve around the day-to-day running of football operations in Brasil as well as maintaining a close relationship with the clients. Whilst you will be based in Rio de Janeiro, you will need to spend extended periods in Sao Paulo (about 2 months) in the beginning of each year, there will be other regular travel around the country.
The responsibilities of the OM also include:

• Operational management with clients including reporting (internal and external).
• Management of operations and scheduling, managing the Project Managers that are dedicated to each division/tournament.
• Reviewing expenses and third-party invoicing, ensuring the operations are working to budget.
• Look for ways to improve the financial performance of the contracts, while monitoring the quality of the delivery.
• Invoicing schedule and management with clients, liaising with the local host (Sony Brasil).
• The main operational point of contact with clients and other stakeholders for operational delivery.
• Ownership of general HR topics related to operations, including training and recruitment when required.
• Setting operational standards and ensuring high-level delivery at all times.
• Proactively identify areas to improve day-to-day operations/efficiencies and implement them with the team.
• Drive technologies, processes and procedures forwards by working with the relevant support teams.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Successful applicants will be highly self-motivated, organised and proactive. The ideal candidate will have the following:
Essential:

• Experience in operational management.
• A strong technical grounding, Proactive, problem-solving attitude.
• Ability to communicate well and inspire teams to follow you.
• Ability to liaise with clients and customers in a professional and approachable manner.
• Confident leadership style to lead and grow the team.
• Ability to set and maintain standards, while minding the wellbeing of people.
• Ability to take ownership of issues, and find workable and pragmatic solutions to operational challenges.
• Experience managing project’s finances and resources.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English
  

Preferred:

• experience in the delivery of VAR/related services..
• Experience in working in live broadcast or large-scale technical projects or installations and working to deadlines
• Good knowledge of football, and a more general interest in sport.
• Fluent in Spanish
